What a complete evaluation includes

A real ADHD assessment — not a 10-minute checklist

ADHD looks like a lot of other things: anxiety, sleep problems, learning differences, thyroid issues. A thorough evaluation rules those in or out. Here's what yours includes.

Standardized rating scales

For adults, the ASRS (Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale). For children and teens, the Vanderbilt scales — completed by a parent and a teacher, since a diagnosis requires evidence across both home and school.

Objective QbCheck testing, done at home

An FDA-cleared computer test that measures attention, impulsivity and activity, giving objective, comparable data instead of subjective impressions alone. You take it at home on your own laptop, before we ever meet, so your results are already read and understood by the time you sit down. No waiting room, no proctor.

ATTENTION IMPULSIVITY ACTIVITY Illustrative sample, scored against age & sex norms

Comprehensive clinical exam

A physician-led interview covering history, development, medical and family factors, mood, sleep and school or work function — the piece online "ADHD mills" skip.

Personalized treatment plan

A clear written plan: diagnosis explained, then options that may include medication management, behavioral strategies, lifestyle changes, and school or workplace accommodations.

How it works

Four steps from questions to a clear plan

STEP 01

Comprehensive consultation

A full-length visit — history, symptoms, and how focus is affecting school, work, and relationships. No rushed intake.

STEP 02

Objective & rating-scale testing

You complete the QbCheck at home, plus the right rating scales: the ASRS for adults, or parent and teacher Vanderbilt forms for children. All of it is done from a quiet space at your kitchen table, in your own time.

STEP 03

Diagnostic review

We walk through the results together, explain the diagnosis clearly, and answer every question.

STEP 04

Treatment & follow-up

You leave with a personalized treatment plan and, if you choose, ongoing management with the same physician.

Ways to start

Start small, or go straight to the full evaluation

Most people start with the Insight because it is the low-commitment way to get objective data. If you already know you want the full evaluation, book that directly.

Evaluation and titration

For anyone starting medication who wants to know it is genuinely working.

  • Everything in the full evaluation
  • A retest once your dose is steady
  • First follow-up within 4 weeks of starting
  • Objective proof of change, not just recall

In a published cohort of nearly 1,000 remotely monitored patients, objectively measured symptoms improved by 41% once treatment was optimised.* Testing again at a steady dose shows what actually changed, instead of relying on how you remember feeling last month.

Book evaluation and titration

Already diagnosed and want to check your treatment is still working? A standalone retest is $249. An evaluation with one of the practice's psychiatric nurse practitioners starts at $747. Florida families: Step Up For Students (FES-UA / PEP) funds may apply.*

Could it be ADHD?

Signs worth evaluating

ADHD shows up differently by age. If several of these sound familiar, an evaluation can bring clarity.

In children & teens

  • Trouble finishing homework or following multi-step directions
  • Careless mistakes, lost items, forgotten assignments
  • Fidgeting, interrupting, or difficulty waiting
  • Bright kid whose grades don't match their ability
  • Meltdowns around transitions or focus-heavy tasks

In adults

  • Chronic procrastination and missed deadlines
  • Difficulty starting or finishing tasks
  • Restlessness, distractibility, or "zoning out"
  • Disorganization at home or work despite trying
  • A lifelong pattern that never quite got explained

Several of these sound familiar? An evaluation gives you a clear answer either way.

Common questions

ADHD testing, answered

Do I need testing to be diagnosed with ADHD?
A diagnosis combines a clinical evaluation with objective and standardized data. We use QbCheck computerized testing plus validated rating scales alongside a physician exam — so the diagnosis is grounded in evidence, not a single conversation.
What ages do you test and treat?
We evaluate children (typically ages 6+), teens, and adults. Because Dr. Loungani is board-certified in both child and adult psychiatry, the same physician can care for multiple members of a family.
What is the QbCheck, and how does the at-home testing work?
QbCheck is an FDA-cleared computerized test that objectively measures attention, impulsivity and activity. You complete it at home on your own laptop using its webcam, from a quiet, distraction-free space, and it takes about 15 to 20 minutes. There is no waiting room and no proctor sitting over you. Because you do it before your appointment, Dr. Loungani has already read your results by the time you meet, so the whole visit is spent on what they mean rather than on collecting them.
I was diagnosed before — do I need to repeat testing?
We'll review your prior records, testing and treatment. In some cases updated testing is helpful to confirm the picture before continuing or adjusting treatment — we'll tell you upfront if that applies to you.
Can you provide school or work accommodations?
Yes. When clinically appropriate, we complete documentation for accommodations such as extended testing time, quiet testing environments, or workplace support.
How much does it cost, and do you take insurance?
We're a concierge, self-pay practice, which is what lets us offer longer, unrushed visits. There are three ways in. The $249 ADHD Insight is QbCheck plus rating scales and a 15 minute results review with a clinician, and it is credited in full toward a full evaluation booked within 30 days. The $1,497 full evaluation covers testing, an hour with Dr. Loungani, a written report and one follow-up. The $1,999 evaluation with titration adds a retest once medication is at a steady dose, so you can see whether treatment is actually working rather than relying on memory. As a Step Up For Students provider, we can help Florida families apply FES-UA / PEP funds toward the evaluation.* Contact us for current pricing and options.
